On 23 May, Ēriks’ new work Naming the Rain, a three-part song cycle based on poems by Paulann Petersen, was premiered by the Brigham Young University Men’s Choir, Iowa State University Singers, Texas Woman’s University Concert Choir, mixed choir Sola of the Latvian Academy of Culture, and conductor Richard Bjella in Riga’s Dome Cathedral. The 250 singers performed the world premiere as part of Festival of Three 2022, an international choral programme with nine concerts in Sweden, Estonia, and Latvia.
